Fillers are popular treatments used for softening wrinkles, laughter lines, facial lines and wrinkles caused naturally by ageing or sun exposure. Combined with a local anaesthetic, dermal fillers are injected into the skin to give your face a natural volume, leaving your skin completely hydrated and youthful.
At Elixir Cosmetics every client seeking injectible treatments is given an in-depth consultation that examines not only their motivation and expectations but also clearly communicates the investment they will make in time and money to achieve their goals. Each first treatment is delivered by a qualified Doctor to achieve the optimum, natural looking aesthetic results. There is a particular emphasis on natural looking results.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural element of our body and fulfils important functions such as maintaining moisture, firmness and elasticity in the skin. Environmental factors such as excessive and intensive sun exposure, and the natural ageing process contribute to the depletion in the body’s own level of hyaluronic acid. The skin becomes drier, thinner, and loses suppleness and elasticity. Lines and wrinkles appear, volume decreases and changes the overall harmony of the face.
Fine lines, wrinkles and skin folds can now be successfully improved with Fillers, giving immediate results. Juvéderm® products are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance which creates volume by retaining water Whether you’re looking for defined facial contours, fuller lips or softened facial lines, these dermal fillers bring out the best in you — instantly and naturally.
Because they degrade slowly over time, you have the freedom to do what you want, when you want. You are always in control of your looks.
What side effects should I expect?
Patients with any concerns are invited to contact the clinic for advice.
Avoid excessive heat
Excessive heat may cause the blood vessels to dilate and cause bleeding and bruising; so avoid saunas, hot showers, the hot sun or cooking over a hot stove. Equally, strenuous exercise should be avoided for 48 hours as it can raise your blood pressure and cause bruising/swelling.
Avoid sun exposure
It is always advisable to avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, but this is especially important after having fillers. Avoid the sun as much as possible and wear high SPF sun block to protect the skin.
Alcohol can cause the blood vessels to dilate and cause more bruising, so refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours after treatment.
Patients should avoid aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginger, Ginko, Bilboa, Ginseng and Garlic for 2 weeks after the procedure since this may increase the risk of bruising.
What about make up?
You may apply make-up straight after the procedure and any redness at the injection sites can normally be disguised with concealer and powder. Don’t forget a sun block beneath any foundation.
